1) You can have any amount of S.Links with the same Arcana.
2) Read below of post for S.Link count.
3) At S.Link 6, your character can now give out an item to that person that will help him/her in Dark Nikawa. Those items got a few basic rules of their own (see bottom of post).
4) If two characters haven't interacted for 3 months for no apparent reason, their S.Links automatically reverses (e.g if person A told person B - or everyone - that s/he is going to be gone for a while, it's fine. However, just flat-out ignoring said person is NOT fine.) To un-reverse their S.Links, they need to have a thread together where they get over it. Said thread needs to be at least 15 posts/each.
5) You can un-reverse any amount of S.Links in one go.
6) You cannot obtain more than 1 S.Link per person per thread. E.g if Mark befriended Akinobu (S.Link 1) in a thread, they need to be in a new thread to get S.Link 2 and so on.
7) If you decide to do all but 1 post for an S.Link in a thread, then make a new one to get the S.Link, that's fine, but 'spillover' posts doesn't count towards your count. E.g you have 14 posts and makes a new thread with the same person. You'll now have your next S.Link (3) but any posts AFTER that in the same thread doesn't count towards your total.
Note: for it to count as 1 post, it needs to be at least 150-250 words. More is fine.
S.Link 1: 10 posts/each. Has to be the SAME thread. <---- You can nullify an elemental attack for this person (read examples at bottom of post).
S.Link 2: 10 posts/each. Has to be the SAME thread. <---- You can now take a mortal blow for this person (assuming you won't die).
S.Link 3: 15 posts/each. Carries between threads. <---- You can now boost that persons resistances (read examples at bottom of post).
S.Link 4: 20 posts/each. Carries between threads. <---- You can now cure a person from status effects (once/thread).
S.Link 5: 30 posts/each. Carries between threads. <---- You can now do a Combo Attack (read examples at bottom of post).
S.Link 6: 30 posts/each. Carries between threads. <---- You can now give that person an item to help out in Dark Nikawa.
S.Link 7: 35 posts/each. Carries between threads. <---- You can now revive that person (once/thread) without a revival item. Drains HP.
S.Link 8: 35 posts/each. Carries between threads. <---- At this point, your S.Links can last for 6 months without reversing.
S.Link 9: 35 posts/each. Carries between threads. <---- You can now do All-Out Attacks together. Yay!
S.Link 10: 40 posts/each. Carries between threads. <---- At this point, your S.Links can no longer reverse.
What does it mean 'carries between threads?' I hear you ask. Basically, if you do 10 posts in one thread, then another 5 posts with the same person in another thread, it'll count as 1 S.Link.
The items got a few rules of their owns:
1) You can only give a person [1] of said item at any one time. Giving more to that person will make it (somehow) just re-appear in your pocket again.
2) The item can ONLY be used in Dark Nikawa.
3) The item has to be small enough to that you can carry it at all times. You can't give the person a piano, for example! That'd be silly!
4) Disposing of the item is not possible. Until you use it in Dark Nikawa, it's in your inventory.
5) If you use it, then speak to the person, you'll automatically get a new one assuming the thread is at least 15 posts/each. You cannot physically hand it to the other person, as it's given to the other one by default once 15+ posts has happened. Those posts carries between any non-Dark Nikawa thread.
6) The item can have whatever effects you want, but it can NOT be used to attack Shadows. It's basically a support item (e.g revives the entire team at 25% health).
7) 2 or more people in the same thread can obtain that item assuming they all have the required S.Link. 2 or more people can also use it in the same thread, if they deem it needed.
8) The item has to have your character's name - be it first or last - included in the name. E.g Furukawa Pill would be Akinobu's.
S.Link 1 example:
KYOSUKE is weak to WIND. An enemy uses a Garu spell on him. Noticing this, RISE jumps in and takes the blow herself, as she's RESISTANT to WIND.
Basically, you block 1 elemental attack and takes no damage from it. Does NOT work on Light/Dark nor Almighty spells.
Rules for it to trigger:
You must RESIST the element you're going to block (does not work on Light, Dark or Almighty spells).
You can only do this once/thread and has a 3 battles cooldown. Use it wisely...
S.Link 2 example:
RISE is about to get attacked by a Bufu type spell and is already low on HP. SACHIYO notices this and pushes her out of the way, halving the damage and taking it for himself.
Rules for it to trigger:
You don't need to resist the element but you take half the damage from it, even if you DO resist it.
Does not work if you're weak to the element.
Can only be used once/fight per person (e.g if SACHIYO has saved RISE using this in a fight, he can save anyone else using it, but not her again until their next fight).
S.Link 3 example:
RISE is weak to FIRE but SESHIRU resists it. If RISE is struck by a FIRE type spell, he can transfer (for 3 turns a.k.a 3 posts) his resistance of it to her, thus making both of them being neutral towards it (both takes 100% damage instead of 200% and 50% respective).
Rules for it to trigger:
Your character must be struck by an element you're weak to and another person must see this. Both must also agree on that you're going to enhance his/her resistances (if either person says 'no', it won't work until the next THREAD earliest).
Got a 6 turn cooldown.
Can only be used once/thread per person.
S.Link 5 example:
AKINOBU and SACHIYO is fighting two powerful Shadows together.
SACHIYO uses a WIND type spell on AKINOBU in order to (for 1 post) give his weapon WIND property (ignoring any other elements the weapon might have). Akinobu then uses his new elemental weapon to strike down one of the two Shadows that happens to be weak to WIND. Akinobu then gives SACHIYO the element of ICE on his weapon to knock down the other Shadow.
Rules for it to trigger:
You need an elemental skill (physical elements, Almighty, Light and Dark are NOT allowed) e.g Bufu.
You must have found the weakness on that particular Shadow already.
If one person uses it, the other one must, too. If the fight ends before the other person uses it, that person uses it by default as his/her first move in the next battle (even if you're unaware what the Shadow is weak against).
Got a 5 turn cooldown.
