NOTE: BEFORE "The Magic Cube" THREAD IS COMPLETE, I WILL VERY RARELY - IF AT ALL - POST IN THIS THREAD. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
(I realize in advance, there's a 99% chance you have no clue what the hell an oimai is. I don't blame you. At all. Me being AWESOME, here's a translation: It means 'marriage interview'. Yes. Seriously. You meet with a person of the opposite gender and see how well you guys get along. In order to get married. Yes. Akinobu is married (and has been for several months). And he's going through a marriage interview. Seriously. This is also the beginning of Akinobu's new 'arc' if you will. The oimai is just a great way to start it off. In terms of the time line, this takes place eight months after his marriage (about about a year and two months after The Magic Cube ends). How will it go? Let's find out! Unless it's you Ammy. You already know some of the stuff I have planned. Key characters in this 'arc': Akinobu (obviously) and Chouko. Everyone else can join in for fun (or to get a free Magician/Fortune S.Link. That works too! Also, if there's 2 or more people you can get S.Links with in the same thread, ALL S.Links are affected - not just the one who made the thread gives S.Link points.)
"...What?" Akinobu stopped in the middle of a step. He had just gotten out of the shower and was on the phone with his mother. Mitsune and Chihiro had won a trip for two to a spa-resort (females only) so Akinobu was alone at the moment. He sat down at the his bed and listened to his mother explaining it again. "Mother, you realize I'm married, right? I've been married for the past EIGHT.MONTHS. There's no reason--- Yes, I know it's a Furukawa Tradition! And--- Mother, listen; you know as well as I do that I'm--- Mother, please listen!" he tried explaining but she hung up on him. "GOD DAMN IT!" he throw his cellphone on the bed before falling backwards on his bed. He looked at the roof with a bitter expression. "Son of a bitch..." he muttered irritated. "...Hm?" his phone called again. It was his father. "Ah, ossan? Oka-san just called and told me I was getting an oimai. What the hell's the deal with that?!" he said and sat back up. He put his cellphone against his ear using his shoulder and got dressed while listening to his father's explanation. "WHAT PART OF I'M MARRIED IS NOT UNDERSTANDABLE?! I was dating her for thirteen.god.damn.years prior to getting married!" he said irritated. "Besides, I'm the Yamato* of this generation! Mitsune has proven time and time again she's the Kagome*! I've ever entered my real self* AND seen her real self* several times! Ask Chi-chan or even the damned smiling bastard! (...Speaking of which, where is that guy...?) Hell, even RISE can vouch that I am Yamato!" he said. His father replied with something that caused him to shout out loud and threw down the cellphone again. "...Gods. Grandfather, was father this stubborn or did I inherit this trait from mother?" Akinobu mumbled to himself.
He finished getting dressed as the doorbell rang. He went over and opened it. A girl in her early 20s stood outside. She had shoulder long black hair and gray eyes. "Hello! I take it you're Furukawa Akinobu-san, yes? I'm Takeba Fuuka! Nice to meet you!" she said and held out a hand. Akinobu stared silently at her for a few moments before grabbing it. She kept having a very irritating - and most likely fake - smile on her stupid face. "...I refuse to speak such manners in a private place. Let's take a walk," he said irritated and locked the front door. Once done, she instantly grabbed his arm with the same stupid grin on her face. "This.Will.Kill.Me. Literally," he mumbled silently so that no one else would hear. The two of them walked down the familiar streets and soon ended up outside a café. "...Let's sit over there," he gestured towards the café. She nodded and quickly sat down and grabbed a menu. Akinobu sat down opposite of her and took a quick look around. Luckily, he didn't see anyone he recognized so there was low odds for stupid questions. After a few moments, the waiter walked up to them. "Hello! Can I take your order?" the waiter said with a calm smile. "...Coffee black as the darkest of nights. It'd reflect my brain activity perfectly right now," he replied bitterly. "Cola for me!" the girl replied happily. The waiter took their orders and walked off. "...Speaking of which, you clearly know my name, but how the hell did you find it out? Outside of cooking and gang fights, I'm not famous other than being a Furukawa* kid... Then again, my name fits me..." the last part was little more than a mumble. "My parents are high-up politicians. So, they have a ton of connections and I was interested in a dangerous guy," she smiled. "...Right..." Akinobu said bitterly as the waiter came back. As he reached out for his cup, something caught his attention in the corner of his eye - he turned around and looked, but there wasn't anything. "Is something wrong?" Fuuka asked. "...No. I thought I saw someone but... That'd be impossible..." he replied and drank some of his coffee. "...After all, he's dead... I killed him with my own two hands..."* Akinobu thought.
(OoC: SO YEAH. HERE'S A BUNCH OF NOTES. Ossan = literally "old man". It's how Akinobu refers to his father. Oka-san = most people should know, but if you don't (or forgot), it means 'mother'. Akinobu doesn't lie about how long he's been engaged - in the story (a.k.a the bridge), it's explained how they met as five year olds and started dating. Thirteen years later, they got married. Yamato is a Furukawa thing. Same goes for Kagome. Basically, it's the first Furukawa member (and his wife). They're reincarnated into each generation in a random Furukawa household. Akinobu and Mitsune are the current ones - and one of the few with 'fake' names. The real Yamato is silver haired with blue-gray eyes. The real Kagome got black hair and blue eyes, which is why Akinobu refers to it as "his and Mitsune's real selves". Akinobu and Mitsune looks different compared to what they SHOULD look like. There's an unfinished thread explaining this in more detail, if you're curious. Just look for "class 4-B" in "completed threads" and you'll see it. Summed up (if you're lazy): due to Mitsune not knowing she's in reality Kagome (again, story reference). At one point, it's (like this) in the middle of a sentence. That's just Akinobu thinking. The one he sees that he killed is Akuma, a rival if you will. He got killed on the old Persona Heaven. Got any questions? Ask away! Also, like I said, anyone's free to join - either for the story or just the free S.Links. Chouko is more mandatory, however (Ammy already knows why). And there's two reasons for that. You'll see why in the future. Yes. I refer to Fuuka as 'she' or 'the girl' a lot. She's not going to be a very important character in this arc (other than for this thread), but I gave her a name for the sake of simplicity.)

Hax was on another errand for his three big sisters, this time they were doing some shopping and he decided to help them by getting refreshments. He walked into the cafe, grabbed a menu and sat down at an empty nearby seat. After that a waitress and got his order he waited there and observed the room. Ever since he got his Persona he saw the world differently from before, it was now a world of who had the power and who didn't. As he looked around the room, his eyes locked onto a man and woman, they definitely weren't a couple though. The man was irritated and the woman was a little too joyous. After a little while Hax finally got his order, but for some reason the name Akinobu popped into his head. He then remembered that Rise had mentioned a man named Akinobu and this man right here matched the description of what Rise had said. Hax then decided to text his sisters saying that they could meet up with him at the cafe and that something had come up. With that he decided to just sit there and wait until he was sure that this was Akinobu or not.

"Nanking, pencil and a new sketchbook ... I still have enough money to buy some vegetables on the way home if I want." Chouko mentally checked the ingredients that could be missing from the restaurant. A cool breeze whirled by as she was waiting for the traffic signal to change it's light to green, a small bag containing drawing materials in her right hand. It was a rather familiar sight for those who were accustomed to see her walking down the street. Her vision did not stop at people nor in stores though ... She was glancing at the sky. "Beautiful colors this morning ..."
The days had been becoming chilly with the approach of winter. Her father used to say "When you see small round clouds of roughly the same size, grouped in the sky looking like a flock of sheep*, that's when you know that the weather will really cool down in the coming days." At the beginning she had believed in that with a childlike innocence, but over the years the tip had proven himself curiously spot on. Coincidence? Personally she had no problems with the cold, but he felt uncomfortable in certain situations. Drawing with icy hands for example, caused an unpleasant tingling. And it was difficult to perform tasks in the kitchen with the same dexterity when sensitivity in her fingers fingers disappeared altogether. Chou pulled the cream colored scarf up to the height of her nose. "... This way my nose will not start dripping, I hope." the light turned green. She moved along the mass of people, trying not to bump into anyone with the bag by accident. "Maybe I should bring something warm to drink at home. Otani always gets a cold this time of the year."
Well ... Personally she liked tea. She always bought cans of iced tea during summer, but it was a good idea to have a good hot tea to prepare during winter as well. "... Okasan likes cherry tea, Otousan prefers green or red tea..." and she liked white or plum tea. Otani wasn't a big fan of it but... "Hm ..."
Maybe she should just bring a new flavor to try with them all. "Something that could suit Otani as well... Hm..."
*bell ringing* "Welcome to Matsumia...!" an attendant at the shop's door was in readiness at the time I entered. She greeted me in a friendly way with a slightly clumsy bow, her hair tied in small pigtails. The place ... It didn't seem to be the largest of the cafes or tea houses in the vicinity, but had the appearance of being the most comfortable one. There were beautiful pictures of products for sale displayed above the counter. The menu outside looked organized and thoroughly clean, with a neat calligraphy. The same applies to the sidewalk in front of it... No trash, and a small yet elegant red ikebana was attracting attention to the store's front... The typical main points of a reasonably well-kept store. I could notice the difference from afar. "Hm ... ~ Miss customer?" "... Uh, Oh." I had missed what she had said during my daydreaming. I could imagine what it was nevertheless. The typical. "... Table for one please." "Understood...! Please, this way." she offered me a smile, indicating the cafe's interior. I followed her quietly to a table at back of the store, next to a window. "... Huh?" as I walked I recognized a familiar scowl getting closer. Through the window, sat on a table outside was... "Now now ... Color me surprised. 'Mr. college student' in the flesh ... And someone I would rather keep myself away from it seems." "... Here is your menu." we stopped only two tables away from them. The unknown girl had her back to me, and seemed to be drinking her soda in a... Unusually cheerful way. "Actually, I'm interested in buying one of the teas you serve. What do you recommend for a cold day such as today?" "W-Well ...!" Though she not seemed very experienced she tried her best in giving me a brief summary of the different types of tea they had. I patiently listened until one of them, that did not sound too sweet or astringent, caught my attention. "Could you bring me a sample?" "Understood...! Please wait just a minute." she bowed briefly before walking out. With her departure, I looked forward, towards a very obviously aware of my presence Akinobu. I raised a hand in a discreet greeting, making a silent 'yo!' with my mouth before opening my bag of materials and pulling my brand-new sketchbook and pencil. "Um ..." I glanced around, trying to find something vaguely interesting to draw as I waited. (Ooc: * c1.staticflickr.com/9/8039/7931150790_c5f9b1fa27_z.jpg )

(Posting order: me > Hax > Ammy. Just pointing it out).
Akinobu flinched. Chouko was sitting not too far from him and whatever her name was, Fuuka? "...Excuse me for a bit," and stood up and walked over to Chouko, then leaned down. "One, don't ask why I'm here. Two, don't ask who she is and three, whatever you do, PLEASE do not act like you know me. Thanks," he said and bowed his head. "I have enough trouble at work with your father not knowing you're my concubine* as is! He STILL thinks we're dating!" he said with a slightly panicked voice. "Hm? Who's this, Akinobu-san?" Fuuka said and walked up next to him. "...A coworker," he replied. It wasn't a lie, but it wasn't the full truth, either. "Oh? Then why did you talk to her? Ah, is it possible you want her as a concubine? I don't mind," she smiled. A light twitch was seen in his right hand but he remained calmed as he replied. "No... Nothing of the sort. I just needed to ask her about my next shift, as I managed to misplace my schedule," he said with a strained voice. The lie was painfully obvious but either she didn't notice or she didn't care. Either way, she shrugged and went back to her seat. "...Please help me figure out an excuse to get out of this oimai - yes, I'm married and YES I'm having one - don't ask - as soon as possible, please!" he said and bowed down again. (...) He quietly sat down again and noticed another guy who looked in their general direction. It wasn't one he recognized but... Hadn't Rise mentioned befriending some guy? Then again, she kept babbling to the point he stopped listening after about ten seconds. While possible it was him, he decided against asking. Not that he cared if it would be considered rude, but more so, he just had no interest in finding out. Mainly because of the God damned oimai. "...Even had I not been married, you're not exactly part of my top ten "people I intend to date," just because you're the daughter of some politician," he said and stared coldly at her while drinking some of his coffee. She kept smiling at him but her eyes were empty, something that didn't fool Akinobu. "...Hey. Seriously. Why the hell are you contacting me? You're not here for an oimai at all, are you?" he said coldly. As if commanded, two people came storming in. It looked like a stereotypical robbery but there was two things they hadn't accounted for: One, the son of the Furukawa's was there. Two, he did not like being disturbed while talking. "Get on the flo---" one of them said but Akinobu stood up with a pissed expression. "Hey. You're disturbing me. If you value your lives, get the hell out of my face, right this instance," he said while devil horns seemingly grew on his head. Each step he took sounded like a minor quake and it wouldn't be surprising if each step he took caused cracks to appear in the floor. Even those without spiritual powers could tell there was a devilish aura around him - most people seemed to take cover to avoid him more than the actual robbers. Both men turned their guns towards him, causing him smirk. "Chou, call an ambulance," he said and cricked his knuckles. Before people seemed to realize what had happened, both men were lying on the ground - one had a broken leg and the other one had a dislocated jaw. "I warned you not to disturb me. Be glad I decided to save your pitiful lives," he said with eyes as cold as ice. They were completely devoid of any life at the moment. Meanwhile, Fuuka smirked quietly at the scene. "...Even better than I had hoped..." she mumbled to herself as she fiddled with her cellphone.
(OoC: Story reference. Kinda. Sorta. ...Not really.)

"Oh? Then why did you talk to her? Ah, is it possible you want her as a concubine? I don't mind," The word concubine sent jolts up her spine. ...Why did he talk to me? Ooh... I dunno, perhaps he knows me?
It had been less than ten seconds and she already didn't like her. That should be a record.
"No... Nothing of the sort. I just needed to ask her about my next shift, as I managed to misplace my schedule," he said with a strained voice. Chou made an effort to concentrate herself into drawing the saltshaker over the table. Yes, the saltshaker. Very. Important. Saltshaker. She didn't miss even when the lighting moved slightly next to it due to Akinobu's bow.
"...Please help me figure out an excuse to get out of this oimai - yes, I'm married and YES I'm having one - don't ask - as soon as possible, please!" he said. She gave him an incredulous look. "Oimai... How... Ah whatever." His family very existence was a mystery by itself. No wonder he was always involved in the strangest things. "Fine." she breathed in slightly, then frowned at him. "...What do you mean? We have a shift today Aki. I'm on my way to the restaurant as soon as I buy the tea Otousan asked." she said in a slightly louder, irritated tone. "You can't ditch work. Especially since it's saturday*. " she tapped her fingers on the table in an anxious way. "Just... Get back to your table for now. You're coming with me as soon as I leave. "
"Get on the flo---" one of them said but Akinobu stood up with a pissed expression.
"Hey. You're disturbing me. If you value your lives, get the hell out of my face, right this instance," he said while devil horns seemingly grew on his head. Each step he took sounded like a minor quake. "..." Chouko had an invisible huge sweatdrop hanging over her head. She looked at the scene in utter disbelief. ...And suddenly, I feel stupid in being happy to see him. She could feel a terrible ominous aura radiating from him in waves. If it wasn't by the fact that she knew who he was she would have hidden under a table right that instant. Instead, she was staring at him with a rather annoyed way. "Chou, call an ambulance," he said and cricked his knuckles. "...Yessir." she got up from the table in a rather sluggish way. "Hey! Where do you think you are goi-? GAAAH!" "I warned you not to disturb me. Be glad I decided to save your pitiful lives," Chou walked past them, completely ignoring the pain screams as she took her phone from the pocket and a small charger from her bag. She connected it to the nearest power outlet and, as soon as the phone turned on, she opened her strange map app and added a red marker with a cross on the spot where she was right now. "Done." she said as soon as her phone vibrated in answer. She finally gave the two robbers a glance. That seemed to hurt quite a bit, but they weren't bleeding at all. They would be fine as long as they receive treatment. She was more worried with the customers. "It's okay. Everyone stay calm. We have them under control and an ambulance shall be here soon." she gave Aki a meaningful look "Aki, no offense but you're scaring the customers a lot." she whispered to him. Her eyes stopped on his horns before locking into his seemingly dead eyes. "Whatever you're doing, that's enough. Please stop it." she said to him in a very serious tone. (...)
She decided to look around and check if everyone was alright. She turned her eyes to a guy nearby who was the closest to them and seemed very shocked with what was happening. He had stood motionless in his chair for a while now. "...You look pale. Are you feeling alright?"

"...I know..." Akinobu said bitterly and turned towards Fuuka again. "They're your henchmen, aren't they?" he gestured towards the two robbers. "Oh my, what could you possibly mean?" she laughed. "...You're a poor actress. Tell me the truth. Who really sent you and for what reason?" he said with a cold stare. Instead of replying, she stood up and walked over to him. "Hm... Wouldn't you want to know?" she smirked and grabbed his collar. Before he had the chance to react, she kissed him with a large grin. "You won't escape your fate this easily, Furukawa," Fuuka said with a sinister grin and walked off. "...I won't escape my fate...? Hey, get back here!" he hurried after her, but she had disappeared among the busy crowd walking back and forth. "Tch, son of a bitch," he said irritated and walked over to Chouko again. "...I'm heading on to work in advance. Meet you there," he said and walked over to the cashier. "...Send the bill for any broken things to the Furukawa's. We'll pay in full once we obtain it," he said and bowed. The cashier looked shocked at him but didn't say anything. Instead, he just nodded and slowly began stammering. "D-Dearest customer... You're... You are..." he began but before he finished the sentence, Akinobu fell down on the floor, panting heavily. His face was covered in sweat and his breathing uneven. "Poison?! No... This is... Fury?! This is... The side-effect of... But how...? Fuuka! That little bi---" his consciousness quickly slipped away. "DAUGHTER OF A BITCH!" he shouted as everything blacked out around him.
The next time he woke up, he was back home. "What the...? Why am I home? I mean, that is..." he looked around and saw his alarm clock. It was... Eight in the morning?! "What the?! My oimai was at 13:00 (1 PM)! Did I sleep all night...?" he mumbled and turned on the TV. "Hello and welcome to August 30th morning special! And now, for today's morning news..." the announcer said. Akinobu felt all color leaving his face. He woke up in the morning of the oimai?! How the hell had THAT happened?! "Chou! She can back me up!" he said and grabbed his cellphone, quickly calling Chou's number. "Ah, Chou? It's me, Akinobu! Look uh... Did we meet at a café earlier today? ...No? At a tea house then? I was there with this girl called Fuuka and--- What? You... Haven't seen me since our shift last night...?" Akinobu felt weak. Something was horribly wrong and he couldn't put his finger on it. "Is it... A dream? It has to be..." he said and pinched himself, but to no avail. "...Damn it... Only one thing to do..." he said and walked to the backyard. Like last night, it was completely empty. "...I trained here until ossan called me and said it was time for my oimai. I took a shower shortly before that so..." he did the exact same training as he had done last time. At 12:11, he took a shower and just as he exited it, his cellphone rang. "...You're gonna tell me about my oimai, aren't you?" he said as he picked it up. "...What oimai? You're married. Did you have some horrible dream?" Junpei said, sounding confused. "...Was it a dream...?" Akinobu said and sat down on his bed. "...Sorry, I gotta jet. I have to get to work," he said and began getting dressed. "Before you go to work... There's a girl called Takeba Fuuka who wants to meet you. She says you know her," he said. "...I see. I'm on it," he said and dashed off towards the police station. If someone knew something about this, it'd be her.
Once at the police station, he ran up to her. She looked the same as she had done previously. "Oh, there you are, Akinobu," she smiled. "You bitch, what'd you do exactly?!" he said and grabbed her collar. "Now, now. Don't be like that. All I did was drug you a little. I'm surprised you retained your memories, actually. You see, us meeting? Never happened. I drugged you last night with a special little poison I created. It was a dream, you could say. Your friends won't remember anything of it. They'll think you're insane." she smirked. Akinobu felt an urge to crush her head against a nearby wall but remained silent. "So you're saying, all of it was a dream? And what if my friends remember those events?" he said and gritted his teeth. "That'd be impossible. They're all gonna think it was a horrible nightmare, no matter how real it felt for them. Actually... It was reality. For them. You turning into that demon-like form? That... Was the effect of my poison," she smirked before leaving. As she did, Akinobu turned around and saw two weird shadows following her. Both looked too familiar to be good. "...Seshiru... Akuma... Could it be that both of you are related to this somehow?" he mumbled.
(OoC: SO I REALIZE THIS IS CONFUSING. No, it's not a dream - shit did actually happen. He's currently in a coma which he believes to be reality. Akinobu will be back on his feet by the next post or so. He IS however currently out cold, so you can't talk to him. You're free to spend the time trying to wake him up in the hospital. Akuma and Seshiru are two 'rivals' of old if you will. Both of them are related to this thread by a lot (note that both are DEAD so that's impressive to pull off, too). That's about all. If you have questions, ask.)

"Oh my, what could you possibly mean?" she laughed.
As if reading her thoughts Akinobu continued "...You're a poor actress. Tell me the truth. Who really sent you and for what reason?" he said with a cold stare. Instead of replying, she stood up and walked over to him. "Hm... Wouldn't you want to know?" she smirked and grabbed his collar. Before he had the chance to react, she kissed him with a large grin. ... The nerve! What's with the people that gravitate around you Aki?!"
--
A little after that he hurried off after her, but she was already nowhere to be found. "Tch, son of a bitch," he said irritated and walked over to Chouko again. "...I'm heading on to work in advance. Meet you there," he said and walked over to the cashier. "...Right. I expect you to explain me what exactly is going on this time." She scoffed before giving a sad short chuckle.
--
Akinobu fell down on the floor, panting heavily. "Wha-... Aki?" Chou hurried to his side and knelt. She wa used to seeing him in worse conditions by now, but by the way that his face sweated... This couldn't be good. He looked paler by the second. "DAUGHTER OF A BITCH!" he shouted "Aki...? Hey! What's going on...?! Hey, HEY stay with me!" She shook him hard and waved her hand in front of his face... His eyes didn't react. "...Shit!" this looks just like when... And if it was the case, making him drink anything or throw up wouldn't work at all. "I need someone that can take whatever is this out of him ..." the thought suddenly occurred to her "...Midori!" She quickly took out her phone and dialed his house. "... F**k, anybody answer the damn phone...!"
"... He is still feverish." His forehead burned under her hand. Chou and Aki's family were taking turns to administer the medicine for him every hour. Just how did he ingest poison to begin with? The boy... What was his name again, Hak... Something? With the whole confusion her brain made a mess of what people said to her lately. Apparently he had been here yesterday as well, some random nurse commented on his unusual eye-hair combo. She remembered that at least.
Not that her own looks were very natural to begin with.
As far as she knew he was just your average recluse joe. She had the pack verify his background, just in case. ... Privacity? Who cares about that at this point? "... Mmn.gh.. You bitch...!"
... Been saying that a lot too. He is hallucinating again it seems. But with whom is he mad? Her cell's alarm ringed in her pocket. Chou hurriedly turned it off. "... Time for another dose." She stood up from her couch and walked up to the door, locking it. Just for a moment. It was better if the doctor didn't see that he was taking non prescribed medication. As for possible effects that it could have if mixed with whatever antipyretic the medic was giving him, she trusted that Midori-san had taken that into consideration to begin with.
She took a small pill from her pocket and opened his mouth.
The right dose, so that they wouldn't risk giving him too much of the antidote. There was a slim line between curing and poisoning even more. One thing was he or his family using it, but she... (and she had sadly to agree with Midori-san here). Plus, she was (Still...!) playing the fake girlfriend. And it didn't help that she was the one who had tons of free time since the vacations had just begun.
Summarily, she was cornered by the whole thing. Again.
"... Right." She put the capsule in her mouth and bit it. The terrible taste numbed her tongue. Maybe it was because she was used to tasting food but it felt really terrible in her mouth, almost like bitter cooking oil. "Ugh...!" Controling her body's urge to spit it, she walked up to him. "..."
You owe me. Big. Time.
She pressed her mouth against his.
... Then again, I did too. So here you go, take it and get better at once.
*brushing her teeth in the hospital bathroom*
"...I swear, my teeth never looked this white in my whole life." She had brushed them what... Five times already today? She slid her tongue over them, searching for any strange taste. Thankfully, whatever that home-made mouthwash had it proved able to clean her mouth from any remnants of the antidote. But she was checking again and again just to be sure. "... Phew. Done." for now. In another hour the whole process is going to repeat itself.
She walked out of the bathroom towards his room, a bottle of water in her hands. Damn, she was hungry. But she couldn't eat until someone switched places with her: it could mix up badly with the medicine in her mouth and who knows what could happen then.
She slid the door with a sigh, only to be greeted with what sounded much like a hoarse 'Hey' from inside. She stared at him in disbelief, wondering if she had felt asleep in the couch too. The door she was holding seemed very real though. She let her shoulders drop "... You're finally awake. How are you feeling?" Chou walked up to Akinobu, his arms full of tubes. He was looking at her, but he seemed to be still dizzy. His eyes weren't focusing her actual location at times. Out of reflex she eyed a bag of sandwiches nearby, but she refrained from eating them. Who knows. Maybe he'll be out again in another minute or two. She sat on a chair beside the bed "...If you feel like throwing just say so, there's a bucket ready right here." She pushed the object lightly with her feet, making a short rasping noise against the floor.

He wasn't sure how long he had been out. An hour? A day? A month? When he woke up, he was (again) in a hospital bed. "...I need to stop waking up in those..." he mumbled to himself. There was no one close by but he did hear running water. "...Guess it's a nurse..." he mumbled to himself and said "Hey" as loudly as he could... Pretty difficult with a hoarse voice, however. Chouko exited from (what he assumed was) the bathroom. "...You're finally awake. How are you feeling?" she asked. "...Get me some tea... Then we talk..." he said quietly while grimacing in pain. "...Shit... Didn't know you worked as a nurse..." he said with a weak smile. "If I did, I'd have made sure to show up here more often, asking for you to be my personal nurse!" he smirked. His body felt like it was fighting a war between Gods, Devils, Ogres, Demons and, for good measure, Shadows as well. "...If you feel like throwing up just say so, there's a bucket ready right here," she said and pushed it with her feet. "...I see... Thanks..." he forced himself to sit up, feeling horribly weak. "Give it to me straight, nurse... On a scale of 1-you, how pale am I?" he laughed. Chouko either didn't share his sense of humor or he fainted as the next time he looked at her face, she looked rather grim. (...) "...That little bitch poisoned me... Remember when she kissed me? Somehow or another, she slipped in some poison. Not sure how... Nor why," he said, his voice slowly returning. "...By the way... You hungry? I'm starving," he said as his stomach let out a loud growl. He looked at the nearby bag of sandwiches with a weak smile. "...Come on, let's eat... By the way... What's this.... Sweet taste in my mouth? I haven't tasted it since..." he began but Chouko interrupted him by shoving a sandwich into his mouth. "SHUT UP AND EAT!" she said with a face that said "IF YOU COMPLETE THAT SENTENCE I WILL MURDER YOU". "...Thanks..." he said quietly and ate the sandwich. It was a plain cheese one; nothing fancy and also the way he liked them. He carefully ate the sandwich and looked around the room. It looked like every other hospital room he had been in. Nothing new. Nothing fancy. (...) "Akinobu-nii!" a young, female voice said. He looked around and saw Amy appear before him. "Amy! There you are! Where's Midori and Ryu?" he asked. "Mama and papa are on their way, too. They wanted to make sure the medicine worked as it should! Ah, Chouko-nee, good day!" she smiled and floated up to Chouko and tried hugging her. "Now, now, Amy-chan. You need to calm yourself," Midori said gently and came up near her. "Yo, Akinobu-kun. Heard you got poisoned. What the hell gives?" Ryu laughed. "Nice seeing you guys, too," he smirked then clutched his chest. "...Shit... What the hell was THAT...?" he said and panted heavily. Chouko seemed unaffected and the others... Were ghosts. "By the way, Chouko-chan. Did you make sure Akinobu got his medicine the way he should?" Midori smiled. For reasons unknown to Chouko, she turned away her head as she said "Y-Yeah...", seemingly wanting to avoid eye contact with Akinobu. He wasn't sure why and thus decided to remain silent. "...Could it be that's what she was so mad about...? How she gave me the medicine?" he mumbled to himself. He laughed quietly and was about to say something, but something in the corner of his eye caught his attention. "What the..." There, right infront of him, the spirits - or ghosts, whatever you wanted to call it - of Akuma and Seshiru stood. "YOU BASTARDS!" he shouted and leaped out of bed. "I'LL KILL YOU BOTH FOR REAL THIS TIME!" he shouted and rammed his fist into Seshiru's face, who disappeared into thin air, causing Akinobu to crash into the wall behind them. "Where are they?! Where'd they go?!" he said and looked around. "...Akinobu-kun, what are you talking about? There was no one here. If another ghost had been present, the three of us would have sensed it. Are you sure you're not just exhausted after being poisoned?" Ryu said and tilted his head. "...Yeah... Maybe... I... Sorry. I'm gonna... I think I'll sleep for a bit... Yeah... I'll... Do just that..." he said and went back to bed. Amy, Midori and Ryu all looked at each other and nodded before leaving. (...) The next morning, it was sunny outside. He felt better but he couldn't forget what had happened the night before. Had it really been illusions created by his exhaustion? Or was it... "Oh, Furukawa-kun. You're done for this time. Please let it be the last," a doctor said and walked up to him. Akinobu - who had been looking out through the window - turned around and looked at the doctor. "...YOU SON OF A BITCH!" Akinobu leaped towards the doctor, who fell backwards as Akinobu readied his fist again. "I'LL KILL YOU, YOU DAMNED SON OF A BITCH - - AKUMA!" he shouted as two guards came and pulled him away. "Yo! Calm down! You're assaulting a doctor!" one of the guards said. "WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?! THAT BASTARD'S AKUMA! I'M GONNA - - What the...?" he said and looked at the doctor, who looked as dumbfounded as anyone else. The doctor - who had short brown hair and glasses - looked confused at Akinobu, then at the guards. "...You'd best put him in a restraining bed for the time being," the doctor said and turned to the guards. "Let go of me, you damned bastards!" Akinobu said and tried breaking loose. A nurse quickly came and gave him a sedative. He slowly began feeling weak, eventually barely staying awake. "...Those bastards... Why are they back in my life...?" he thought weakly before falling asleep.
Meanwhile, Amy, Midori and Ryu silently watched Akinobu being dragged off. "I don't get it... I didn't feel the presence of other ghosts..." Amy said and tilted her head. "Yes, that worries me as well. Akinobu-kun... No matter how sensitive to the spiritual world, he shouldn't be able to see them... I don't think it's a side-effect of my medicine, either," Midori said quietly. "...So in other words... Someone or something causes him to see hallucinations and he thinks it's ghosts," Ryu said. "...I'm worried about him... I'm gonna stay with him until he's up from the restraining bed," Amy said and flew off. "I'll head on back to the Furukawa House. I'm gonna see if I can have the others help me find some possible cause for this... And an antidote for it..." she said and looked at Ryu. Ryu nodded as she flew off and looked out through a window. "...Akinobu-kun..." he mumbled to himself.
